Halifax Family Creativity Day (King Cross)

This is a rescheduled event, originally planned for 23 Nov 2024. 

Discover the local landscape through family art and storytelling activities.

10:30am – Doors open
11am – 12.30pm – Draw along workshop with The Iron Man Illustrator, Chris Mould
1pm – 2.30pm Storytelling workshop where you can bring your own creatures to life!
3.30pm – Ends

 

There will be drop-in craft activities available throughout the day. Feel free to drop in or stay all day!

Chris was born and raised in West Yorkshire where he still lives with his family. He is one of twenty studio artists at the prestigious Dean Clough Mills arts and business complex.
His work ranges from children’s publishing to theatre and film, having produced a long backlist of children’s titles, theatre posters, editorial cartoons for major newspapers and character development work for animated features.

Highlights include: The Iron Man, A Boy Called Christmas, Animal Farm and Something Wickedly Weird. and He exhibits his artwork regularly and commits to an ongoing programme of events.

Safeera Ahmad

Author 

Safeera Ahmad was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She trained and worked as a teacher and encouraged her students to pursue their aspirations with great success. After years of writing stories for the enjoyment of her younger siblings and then her nieces, she decided to pursue her own aspiration and bring her stories to new audiences.

Safeera is the author of ‘Ginger and Khala’ (October 2022) and ‘The Girl who knew Kung Fu’ (September 2024) published by Olympia Publishers.
